Kristiansand

The county of Vest-Agder forms the southern part of Norway. Here the charming nature of the south-east meets the more windswept and "rocky" west.

The county has several rivers running through it. Sira, Lygna, Audna, Mandalselva and Otra all held healthy stocks of trout in the upper regions and salmon and sea-trout in the lower parts before the acid rain wiped out the fish several places. Now almost every watercourse in the county are artificially limed, and the fish is returning.

The salmon bearing parts of these rivers are in part covered by the salmon thread found in this guide. For trout fishing in the upper reaches there are no information yet. For the subject of freshwater species we have reasonable information in the area around Kristiansand.
