The
rivers of Buskerud county has its sources in the mountains around Hardangervidda,
Hallingskarvet and Hemsedalen. Interesting rivers are Hemsila, Hallingdalselva,
Numedalslågen, Simoa, and Storelva/Randselva witch is shown on the
picture.
The mountain brown trout found in the areas around Geilo
and Hemsedal have sizes and culinary values that are pretty unique.
Lakes of significance in the north are Tunhovdfjorden
and Pålsbufjorden. The first has provided an attractive source of
brown trout for reestablishments in other parts of the country. The latter
has given name to a Norwegian fly named "Pålsbu".
Lakes in the south are Krøderen, Sperillen and
Tyrifjorden.
