Glomma

The county of Akershus is densely populated. This is a lowland county where the dominant vegetation is spruce forests and the clayground gives some of the smaller watercourses a greyish colour.

This is a county where the angler can try his luck for a lot of different species. Though the bait fisherman here has the widest range of species - there are over twenty freshwater species around, the flyfisherman has numerous opportunities.

The watercourse Glomma with its subsiduaries dominates the watery elements, but good fishing can be found in Østmarka and Romeriksåsen.

Major lakes are Hurdalsjøen, Mjøsa and Øyeren. The latter is perhaps the countrys most interesting area for the bait fisherman, who can succeed in trophy fishing for a lot of species where Pike, Burbot and Pike-perch all grow big in this lake and in the river Glomma that runs trough it.
