Torill Kolbu will need no further introduction. By many flyfishers she is regarded as Skandinavias most innovative fly tier. Her imitations are works of art, and on this page we will present some patterns that catch coldwater species all around the country.
 
Midge Pupae

Tying description: 
  • Hook: Mustad 80100 (size 20-26) or

  • Mustad 80250 (size 14-18) 
  • Tail: White marabou or organza
  • Body: Lureflash Twinkle Black rainbow (TW 26) Crocheted
  • Thorax: Black fox
  • Hackle: White or Grizzly Cock
The body should be crocheted, by use of two threads on small flies and four threads on the larger sizes.
 
Caddis Pupae

Tying description: 
  • Hook: Mustad 80250 BR
  • Thread: Black 8/0
  • Weight: Might be weighted 
  • Body: take an appropriate piece of antron yarn and split it in three.Use two of the strands to make the body by tying the crocheted style.
  • antenna: Two fibres of bronze mallard
  • legs: Partridge, CdC or fox-hair.
  • Thorax: Fox dubbing, colour: black, black and white (picture) or brown.
